The Commonwealth Of New Bayswater is one of the world's smallest independent nations.
First inhabited by Jessee Lee Johns in 2016, the Commonwealth Debuted on the world stage with the opening of it's embassy in Australia in 2017. Australia failed to recgnise the country or it's embasssy, and it closed within a month of opening it's doors. As the embassy was the tiny nations only possession, new bayswater entered a period of territorylessness, which lasted for two years.
In 2019 The Commonwealth managed to secure a small piece of land on Fremantle's south mole. The nation sprung up again for a couple of months, and welcomed visitors from all over the world. It's fledgling tourist economy promptly collapsed after a month or so, it's much celebrated South Mole Resort was closed down and it's territory was ceded back to Fremantle Ports.
As of September 2021, The Commonwealth has again opened an embassy/public works department in Ausralia. With the Aid of a small group of Australian nationals, the country is again set to claim two small parcells of land. One is situated near Blackwall Reach, in the city of Melville, the other on the south side of the river in between the City of Fremantle's two traffic bridges on a heavy lift jetty. As foreign capital floods New Bayswater, Plans for development are well under way, the Inverted Museum Of History set to open it's doors on the 5th of November, 2021. The downtown area has a number of establishments also set to open on the 5th of November in 2021.
Official policy is that all foreign visitors require a valid passport valid for at least 3 months to secure a 1 day tourist visa in order to enter New Bayswater. There are two types of visas available, day time and night time. Visas can be secured online here, via trybooking.com, the nation has virtually no infrastructure, and apparently this seemed the easiest way to facilitate the issuing of visas. Otherwise you can go to the embassy, worth a visit in it's own right, and get a visa there.
Day time visas are free and are valid from 10am-5pm. Night time visas cost $10 Australian, and are valid from 5-10pm.
That being said, enforcement around the Inverted Museum Of History in the nations cultural precinct is incredibly lax, and visas can be considered optional. The downtown area does have a border checkpoint, where visas will be verified upon entry. A passport is certainly required, but they will basically accept any document as a passport, library card, piece of toilet paper with passport scrawled on it, they really don't seem to care that much.
if you have trouble securing a visa online, or it says there are none available, it is a good idea to check in person at the embassy. There is a moderate level of corruption in the country, and it is certainly possible to bribe embassy staff in order to obtain a visa. Or just rock up at the border, they offer a contingent visa, whereby you may enter if the country is below capacity, potentially being asked to leave if an unrestricted visa holder comes to the border. You can even check how many visa holders are in the country in real time at visatracker.newbayswater.com.
There is no airport in New Bayswater, and as such, flights to the country are incredibly rare, dangerous and generally illegal.
There are no roads in New Bayswater, so the only real option is to walk around. As there is a bit of distance between the regions, getting from one to the other essentially needs to be treated as Getting In. There is a ferry service, though it is notoriously unreliable and of very limited capacity.
There are a number of sights to behold in the various regions of New Bayswater. All of them are in Australia though. Some have reported an experience akin to the thing astronauts get looking down at earth from orbit as they gaze back upon the country they moments ago left.
A good way to keep your finger on the pulse of New Bayswater is to go to the New Basywater News website, it is maintained by the public works department and is regularly updated providing the most relevant information for New Bayswater residents and visitors alike.

Remember, the New Bayswater Dollar ($NBD) is the official currency of the nation. You will need to change money at the GPO to be able to indulge in all New Bayswater has to offer. While it is the offical currency, Australian dollars are generally accepted when engaging in the aforementioned corruption. It's also a good idea to have a bit of australian currency on you just in case you get in a jam.
It's probably a good idea at some point.
